I'm got pretty excited about the new BHW Savage barrels that wre anounced a few days ago. As well as they shoot on an AR I suspect they wil be true bug hole shooters on a bolt action. But who can tell unless they try, right? Since I have avoided Savage rilfes like the plague just like a Chevy owner does with a Ford I had to steady my nerves and start looking. A search of the usual places turned up a Modle 12 that loked like it would work. As luck would have itit was only 25 miiles away so I was able to expamine the suspect closely. It looked adequte for the job so I got ready to do Internet Auction Combat!! After a hard fought 30 minutes on Sunday I emerged the victor for my test bed. Here are some quick pics of what I got. I also obtained about 150 pieces of formed brass, 3 boxes of factory ammo for fire forming and a very expensive set of Redding Competition Bushing Dies. Check the chambering. This will be a PD shooter during it's off days when I am not shooting a BHW barrel in matches with it. Here you go and now the waiting starts: What do you think? Greg

There seems to be a problem with the bolt, it appears to be on the wrong side! I own 6 Savage M110's and 1 M10, mine all have the bolt on the correct side. (Southpaws Rule) All kidding aside, I have been very fortunate with these rifles. Every one has been a great shooter. I do reload for each one and a few have been temperamental but, once the right load was found they have all turned in excellent performance. Half the fun of owning a rifle is reloading for it and dialing in the sweet spot. Good luck with your new rifle and welcome to the DARK side of a SAVAGE ownership. ;D

The sped using the right bolt is a huge step in getting lead down range. My M/O students couldn't believe what you can do in 10 seconds with a 308!! LOL Greg
