Huh, very cool. I just finished a .300 AAC and plan on carrying that next year for the deer/elk season. While I also run a BHW 6x45, my daughter will be running that rifle for her season...

Just from my elk hunting experience here in Idaho, I would sure have a hard time pulling the trigger on an elk with a .300 BLK,yes of course if you get a good hit no problem..but too iffy to take that chance IMHO. A .264 LBC,6.8 SPC or 30 Rem AR is what I would consider a minimum to get proper expansion and energy to up the odds of a clean kill.

my AR 338 Federal with 22 inch BHW does a wonderful job on elk, but I have never shot it over 300 yards. When I shoot up my fusions I am going to try some Barnes ttsx 185 grain and see how they perform.
