I'm curious about 2 of the 3 finishes you offer. The satin, is that a bead blasted finish or is it some sort of grey coating you put on?
Do any of the finishes such as satin or black offer any sort of protection to lengthen the life of the barrel?
If I have satin or black do I need to avoid certain cleaners such as ammonia based cleaners? Currently I use Ed's Red and Hoppes #9 but I've read the Hoppes can be a bit harsh if left on too long.

Satin is a light bead finish. Not a coating. None of them add to barrel life. The cleaning products out there won't harm the finish. I have all three BTW. Greg

check out this under FAQ, looks grey but it may be different in person. blackholeweaponry.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=faq&action=display&thread=86I'm leaning towards the satin myself as I find black is not too great a color to hide in the bush even though perhaps only 4-5 inches would stick out in-front of the hand guard. Given that, black may not be terrible if your hand guards are not black as well. Of course many people like an all black gun.
