Just wondering if there were any plans or discussions what so ever about bringing this cartridge (30 Rem AR) to the production line.

Just wondering if there were any plans or discussions what so ever about bringing this cartridge (30 Rem AR) to the production line. I doubt you will ever see one. It has a proprietary bolt and an oddball size case head. Thank Remington, they have succeeded again in killing off a good concept before it gets off the ground. I guess this is what happens when a bunch of money grabbing bean counters own a firearm company.

Agreed Ritch,
Remington has always done a botch job when Introducing a fine new round like the .30 RAR...Pretty much zero support...
The .30 RAR case would have been a super parent case for wildcatting to a 6.5mm/7mm variant...Oh well...

I saw some LOADED rounds the other day. First time since it came out that has happened.

The .30 Rem AR is completely different. The upper receiver is stronger and looks very similar to the R25 but the barrel nut is bigger than the AR15 and AR10 profiles. I don't blame just Remington but the product managers and Remington's lawyers for their failure to see the $$$ potential in this cartridge. The upper is a great way to build the magnum calibers in the AR15 profile but the barrel being odd ball sized is a downer. Reguardless, the round is a superb one just from the ballistic stand point.
