I thought maybe I might start this thread while waiting for my Prac 20 barrel I ordered on March 13. Been making plans and buying a few things. Bought all my loading dies and equipment, cleaned and tumbled a mess of once fired LC brass, have primers, bullets, and some powder. Finished another 80% lower receiver and Gunkoted it black. Bought a DPMS High Rise Upper receiver, ARP Superbolt, Windham Weaponry M16 bolt carrier, Burris 3x9 scope (for Now) and now have to decide on the rest of the details for the build. Pretty sure I'm going to use an Ace skeleton stock and some kind of Carbon Fiber handguard (undecided on which one) If anyone has any favorites, please make suggestions. Also want a clamp-on gas block. This is my 7th build and needs to be a bit "special". I like the understated, simple look.

You will really like this one when you are done. I have been shooting 204's and a 20 TAC for several years. A hammer on PD's. The Berger 35's look like the best bullet out there right now.
What profile and length did you order? The ACE makes up nicely. My TACTICAL was built with one. Have you picked a trigger yet? What type of dies were you able to procure?

PS:I got so excited about yours I forget to mention that I have a new 20 PRACTICAL myself that goes to the range this week for its' shake down.

I ordered a 24" Satin finish bull barrel. Trigger is undecided at this time.

That barrel will get you all you can get. I think you will be astounded at the velocities and groupings. I do recommend an adjustable gas block for it. That was the one thing I learned from my 20 Tactical years ago. It gives you a bunch more powders to play with.

So far I'm not impressed with BHW "customer service". It's been 4 months since I ordered and haven't heard a damn thing. They can't even answer emails. I know they have moved, but I think their customers deserve better!

squeaky wheel gets the grease.
the not knowing and thinking you are being ignored does get to a guy. been there done that.
but the barrels are worth the wait. I think many of these companies are just totally overwhelmed with the volumes of orders they are dealing with.
i would call and email daily -- that is what i did till you get an answer. average time right know looks to be 16-20 week wait. i want to order another barrel from them but i am holding off because i just don't know if i can handle the wait and lack of communication.
