I got my new barrel today and was looking at getting it together but i was wondering what the proper cleaning process is before installing it to the upper. It looks as if there is som metal shavings in the chamber which isnt a big deal, but it appears that where the gas port is drilled there is a burr hanging down and i wasn't sure if I should use some butches bore shine to try to get it out or if it would shoot out? ? after the wait I dont want to mess it up and have to wait all over. Thanks

Thanks I went ahead and took some gun scrubber and a bore snake through it and it seams to be gone now. Now off with the rest of the build.

If you get another hangy down on the next barrel you can try a brass brush. I have had some clean up that way. A round down the bore will finish the job.
Greg
PS: I have had this on non-BHW barrels also.

I figured it was common to have a burr there. I noticed there were some shavings in the lug and got everything cleaned out before I put it together. Thank you, Brian

I finally got some time to put 50 rounds down the tube. The first five rounds were better than an inch at 50 yards. After a scope adjustment the next 20 rounds were put in a one inch circle Still at 50. I then jumped out to 100 where I let the other 25 rounds off but I could tell I was pulling the gun. Now I am going to do some trigger work to it and see if I can find a load it really likes. It has been a struggle to find some of the powders that I want to experiment with to get a little more velocity out if it being this is what they usually like so I have been told. Thank you guys at bhw for your craftsmanship. Brian
