I will look at the 20 Practical. Still in the planning stages. How does it compare with the 204 Ruger?

Sounds like the 20 Practical is a definite "maybe". Probably less sensitive to crosswind? Is there an optimum barrel length?

I've been thinking about building a 204 Ruger, but the 17x223 may be the ticket. Sounds like fun to shoot. I'm late to the party but the 20 Practical is the E Ticket on this one. I shoot 204's and 20 Tacticals now and since they are ballistically identical the Practical is the only way to fly IMHO. The 223 brass is so cheap and if you lose a piece it is no big deal. One quick pass through the die going in and coming out you are GTG. The 17/223 is a bit of a pain to make. It takes about three steps to make a good one. The 20 Tactical takes two if you do them right. Also you can make the 20 Practicals with a 223 Redding bushing die and have it handy to load 20 Practical, 23 and 6X45 all for the cost of a bushing change!! The ballistic superiority of the 20 over the 17 is pretty straight forward. Where the 17 dies the 20 starts to breath fire when it comes to PD's. Also you have many more bullets in the 20 to chose from compared to the 17. Just my thoughts on this one. YMMV Greg

Are there any updates that can be shared for a big bore offering such as .450 bushmaster or .458 socom or something similar?
By "big bore", I mean at least a .357 dia.
With the recent rash of attempts by our politicians to implement arbitrary mag limits, I am more interested in a BIG bullet than I used to be.
Just curious. Thanks, -Mike

Thanks, -Mike At this point I don't think the big bullet barrels are getting much play in their shop. The demand for 556 has pushed a lot of projects to the back. I'm with you I want a big bore also but I'll bide my time. Greg
