Part of the fun of hunting is planning out my guns and gear for this years hunt. I started this thread to talk about this years plans. I will start the thread with some of my gear plans for the year. Rifles: Deer - the new American 30 cartridge, in an 18" barrel, Battle tested Equipment gas block, forearm, trigger and charging handle, Leopold scope, wood stocks Elk -- this year is another special year, where Rob the owner of Tactical Ammunition and Jason our shop manager are going on a long range Elk hunt. For those who have not seen the videos of our 2012 hunt please look at the long range section of this forum or go to our u tube channel. we took three elk that year. So I am looking at field testing one of our new short magnum AR rifles Varmints -- 6x68,223 and A-30 (American 30) in both bolt action and AR
Lets here your plans

I guess I'm boring, because my coyote rifle will be old reliable. My 16" 6X6.8 always gets the job done. It shoots 1/2 inch or better!! What more can you ask of a rifle that spends hours laying in the snow and mud? My long range setup will be a 243 LBC in a 1 in 8 twist shooting 95 grain Sierra's. This barrel is on a Savage model 12 single shot action. This gun will shoot in the 1's when I'm having a good day.

I am building my first ar upper 6x45 for 50 yard deer (forest) with a 1:8 I hope it will like the 100 gr sp down to 87 if I have to. I may even try my hand at a coyote and small pig if they present themselves.
