Okay I have a BHW 20" .264 LBC type II with tactical ammo type II bolt. Every so often when the bolt goes into battery I get no strike on the primer. I wait just in case of a delayed firing and then try to eject the round I must use excessive force to remove the round from the chamber. Changing to a fulton armory side charging carrier and upper receiver did not change this issue. I am using hornady dies and loading to saami spec. Does anyone have any ideas?

Probably you are not moving the shoulders back enough. You should have 0.004 - 0.005 less than a fired case. The AR needs more room than a bolt gun for proper feeding. If you dont have Hornady head space gauge it will help if you obtain one. You can make do with a caliper and a 9 MM case. You could turn your seaterSIZER in about 1/16 turn and size a few. Pull the ypper and run them in the chamber. The bolt should lock up easily and extraction should be smooth as butter. If not repeat as above. Greg

Does the seater push the shoulder back?

That was a type-O. Greg wanted to say SIZING die. .004 to .005 is the minimum I set my shoulder back. If I am going to be hunting, I set my shoulders back .007 to .008 The last thing I want is a stuck case.

Yep, auto correct and standing in the middle of a quilt show doesn't help. I fixed it....LOL
How do you load to SAAMI specs?

Well not exactly saami spec, just what the hornady dies specify and load data from either hornady or sierra. The guy at my reloading supply said to try no crimp and check for bulged cases as well.

Technically the LBC is not SAAMI approved. The funny thing is LBC dies are available but they are just Grendles with a different stamp. Bump a few shoulders and let us know how they run. That Hornady set up has literally saved me hours in die set ups over the past few years. Greg

Okay so I bumped some shoulders back and plan on loading up some CFE and do some ladder testing to see how this works. If this does not work I might try some lapua brass rather than the hornady. Does anyone besides ASC makes grendel mags? I see that e-lander does but I am wanting some 10 to 15 rounders to try out.

C products also makes magazines for the 264 I have both brands and have had 0 issues with them. In fact I changed the follower in one and it is now a center feed 450 Bushmaster.

I like the ASC's like Ritch. I'm real cheap though I even use the Grendels on all my 6.8 variants.

E-Lander does make 25 rounds mags for the 6.8 SPC. Down the road, 10 and 15 rd mags may become available. In the meantime, The Mako Group who distributes E-Lander mags in the US is having a Black Friday sale starting Thursday....30% off on all products.

Well out of 70 rounds with the shoulders bumped back with CFE223 I only had 1 lock up and 1 dud(1st I have ever encountered). I had really good groups. At 500yrds I was at 4".
