I bought a BHW .264 LBC from a guy on the Internet. Here are the specs:
Blackhole Weaponry Chamber .264 LBC/ 6.5 Grendel. Shoots factory 6.5 Grendel ammuntion. 18" 8 twist Chambered for a type I bolt 5/8-24 thread @ muzzle Peened blackened finish "Hammer Flare" contour M4 extension Rifle length gas .750 gas block seat
There is a picture. The barrel is clearly marked Type I. Here are my questions. First, I looked at ar15performance.com. They have a complete .264 BCG in an M16 bolt carrier. They also have a "Super Bolt", which I assume would work in the M16 carrier The complete BCG does not say if it comes with the "Super Bolt" or not. If I buy the M16 bolt carrier and the "Super Bolt", it does not say if it comes with the cam pin or firing pin retainer. Wow! No way to just buy a complete .264 LBC Type I BCG. To add to the confusion, I read a post somewhere on this forum, that some of the BHW barrels were mismarked! How do I know if I have one of the mis-marked barrels BEFORE I buy a BCG or the parts to assemble one? I do know that if the barrel is a Type I, I need a bolt with a .125 recess and if it is a Type II or Grendel I would need a .135 bolt recess. Kind of sorry I bought the barrel now. Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Order up a complete 7.62X39 BCG. I have bought them fron Tactical Ammunition Joe Bobs Model 1 Sales PSa and had no problems. I have seen exactly one miss-marked barrel. The carrier with an additional separate source bolt will not have the pin etc. One thing you can do is buy a complete 223 BCG fron SAA and a 7.62 bolt. Swap the bolt out and then sell the 223 bolt or keep it as a spare. Since you mentioned the shot peened finish that shows the barrel is recent production. We haven't turned loose any Type II chamberings in a long time.
Once you shoot a few groups your disappointment will fade quickly. You don't need a Super Bolt IMHO. We haven't seen any ctacked bolts in several years. I know I haven't lost one and mine are shot, shall we say, warm

Thanks GL. I knew you'd know, but hate always putting this stuff on you. The barrel I bought is unfired. Good to know it seems like a recent production so mis-marked issue is unlikely. I will just buy a complete 7.62 x 39 BCG and call it good. Thank you-carl
