I know some here use BTE's gas blocks bte-usa.com/parts/micro-gasblocks.htm I went on their website and am interested in the Micro adjustable The web site was sold out so I will have to wait for now but... How does the adjustment work on their gas block. does it have a detent, or does it use a set screw to lock it down once it is set? Additionall what is the story with BTE are they a new company it seems like alot of their items are under construction handguards are not available yet, no dust covers, just wondering they look like they have some nice stuff and good prices but just not available Thanks

The adjustment is like most on the market. He doesn't use locking set screws on the mini but does on others. A dab if RTV is used. In the set screw adjustment hole. This secures it enough that carbon build up occurs as in all blocks finishing the job. I ran JP's for years and when I found the BTE blocks I went to them 100%. I believe I have over a dozen of them in one form or another. His web guy is...kind if slow.. Sending a note to his site is sometimes the best.
He has been doing some major design work for another company the past month and now has all his machines up and running and products are starting to flow. Hardly new to the scene he is one of the biggest suppliers of gas blocks, FF tubes and triggers. He's just redone his tube design, adding a drop in M16 trigger and a new collapsible stock tube.

Glad you were able to get the BTE micro adjustable gas block. They are well made. I have them on both my 18" mid-length AR's, 6X45mm and American 30. Depending on the handguard, you may have to make clearance to access the adjustment grub screw. I had to make a small semi circle cut to make clearance for the hex wrench on the Troy Vtac Alpha free float tube. Used Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black to refinish the cut. Please post pictures of you rifle when you complete the build. Glenn

Sometimes a little initiative pays off. Greg thanks again Yes it dos. Guys set around thinking they'll get a round'tuit and don't order and then they wonder why they are pointing their fingers at the prarrie dogs going bang instead of looking at them through a scopeand going boom. So yes, initiative does pay off. Greg
