I shot the Arizona Senior Olympics F-Class match yesterday. I'm in the .....older group.
I shot a 243 LBC on a Savage made up by BHW. 95 grain SMK's over 8308. 500 yard match this time. Conditions were swirling winds, mirage off and on and clear to partial clouds.
Without a doubt the easiest shooting gun on the line bigger than a 223. My shooting partner was shooting a 300 Win Mag with 190's and 220's. My shoulder was much better at the end of the 60 scored rounds. The SMK's seemed to cut the wind nicely and I only got caught twice on some big changes. Come ups were right on nine MOA so it does shoot flat.
I managed a Silver for the day. It would have been Gold, gotta' have an excuse, if I hadn't put a 9 on my neighbors target. I hadn't done that in about 20 years..LOL
All told not a bad outing for the new barrel. The barrel and the cartridge got a lot of attention on the line. I saw some sparkling eyes when they saw the little speedster in action.
