The barrel looks great. Weighs over 2 lbs, though. I was hoping a light profile 16 inch barrel would be somewhere around 1.8 lbs. I guess I should have called ahead before I ordered. It's still going to make a tight little hunting rifle.

Got the rifle mocked up. It weighs 7.1 lbs with ammo and mag with the Trijicon. It would weigh 6.8 lbs with the Weaver. It weighs 5.7lbs dry. The balance is perfect. I'll post some pics when I get it all tightened up and zero'ed in.

I hope the image shows,.. I had a helluva time sharing this at the right size from Picasa. Got everything tightened up. Did a function check and roughed in a zero as I didn't have much time. For a first run I'm pretty happy with the Hornady 123 grain factory ammo. I put 20 rds through the gun. I had some clover leaf groups and I had some 1.5 inch groups. The rifle and I are still honeymooning and I was a bit rushed, so I'm not posting any groups until put some more lead down range. I think its going to be pretty danged accurate, though. I had more groups around an inch than over. I overestimated the weight. Actual weight on the scale with a loaded 5 rd mag and the optics shown is 6.81 lbs. An optics swap could get me back 4 ozs depending on the scope. Weight as is approaches weights of high end ultra light bolt actions. Functions perfectly. Drops all the brass in a bout a 2ft area at my 5 o'clock. I wasn't expecting that with the slick side receiver. There was mention of noise and flash from the short barrel. With no ear-pro its not as loud as my 308 with a 22 inch barrel. No noticeable flash problems, but I was shooting around 3pm in the shade. I'll have to put pop one off around dusk to check the flash. I can't wait to shoot over the chrony. I'm diggin' it.
