Good afternoon,
I'm at the point in my 264LBC build.
JD Machine OD green upper and lower, SLR Rifleworks OD 16.5" rail and adjustable gas block, Magpul AR10 PRS Stock, DSS 3.5# Trigger. I just need to decide on the barrel. Of course it will be a 22" BHW barrel.
1. What is the difference between the standard and national match barrel profiles?
2. I want to be able to shoot 100gr - 129gr bullets out to distance +500. Which is going to be the best barrels twist 1/8 or 1/9?
Thanks, Michael

Twist rate can be very forgiving and either of the two rate's will do what you want. Just remember that a faster
twist can stabilize a heavier bullet better. Most people I've seen are using a 1:8 and shooting 123-129gr bullets. That
seems to be the sweet spot with the grendel.
As far as the barrel profiles, I'm not entirely sure. I think they are the same. BHW standard is a HBAR and I didn't
see a national match profile on the website but I would bet they would be the same. I'm sure someone with a better answer
will reply to this question.

Thanks, Michael Standard profile is .800 under the hand guard and .730 in front of the gas block. The National Match profile is .950 under the hand guard and .730 in front of the gas block. I go with the 1 in 8 twist on all my barrels in 6.5 caliber. It seams like the bullets keep getting longer and longer. The 1 in 8 will stabilize them all.

I was typing this too... Darn coffee addiction. Almost word for word.
