i had seen some bags of prvi partisan brass with large primer for the 6.5 grendel and wondered how well made this brass is. i have never used this brand before although i have heard of it. i have read conflicting thoughts about it though most say it was good for a few loads andd that's about it.
anybody have experience with it?

I used a lot of PPU brass when I was loading for 6.5x55 in a bolt rifle; IIRC, I was on the 6th reload when the brass was destroyed in a fire. There is a whole lot of difference between a bolt and a gas gun, but in that caliber, in that rifle, it appeared to be "OK".

While I have no experience with 6.5 Grendel or 264 LBC, I've been looking at picking up a 264 LBC BHW barrel for another build. I too was wondering about the quality of PPU brass for 6.5 G and the large primer pocket. From what I've read online, the primer size isn't a problem, though SRPs seem to be preferred for longevity. However, the quality of the PPU 6.5 G brass may be of better quality now, or at least in the match ammo (120 HPBT, I think). Here's a quote from LRRPF52 on the AR15.com forum: " I can also confirm that there is a significant difference in the newer Prvi Partizan 6.5 Grendel brass. From the side, it looks like annealed Lapua brass, and appears to be much stronger than the original 123gr Soft Point load brass.
I've been shooting a bunch of it, factory Precision Firearms 120gr Scenar-L load that he made for demos where he wouldn't be as concerned about brass pick-up as with the Lapua. It can be ordered in bulk as well." I think the PPU brass will be GTG. And for the price of new brass, it seems logical to just buy the loaded ammo and get the brass that way... my opinion. Here's the link, for reference... www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_121/673450_Why_is_6_5G_prvi_brass_large_rifle_primer_.html

i just recently ordered my barrel so i still have quite a bit of time to decide on the brass. i thought for $55-60 a 100 i might try it, but have also seen Lapua brass for $80-90 per hundred, might be wiser to spend the extra cash and not worry about it!
thanks for the input guys.

Folks,
I have used Privi brass exclusively, and have cases that are in their 6 reloading. Use with confidence. A2

There is a reason the Bench Rest boys use Lapua. I have literally shot a barrel out with 15 pieces of Lapua brass. Of course that's in a tight match chamber. But still the brass held up and the primer pockets were still tight.
