I had built this rifle some time back but with a new child and family members getting sick it was very hard to make to the range. Will today was the day, I finally got to see what this barrel can do. I'll let the pictures do the talking. The rifle. Outside edges 3/8" at 100yds. 69gr matchking Outside edges 5/16" at 100yds. 77gr Nosler custom HPBT

I have one issue I don't like, the buffer spring makes a spoon on a cheese grader sound. I've tried oil, dry lube, and white grease but still the noise. I also have tried a standard buffer spring and a JP tuned spring but with the same results.
My .450 bushmaster is also on a rifle buffer system but I don't have as much of this problem but it is still noticeable. Any help would be much appreciated.

Lerms You could try a flat buffer spring from David Tubb or see if Shooting Innovations one of tge industry guys on here can set you up with their recoil system. It is a captured spring and is very quiet. Greg

Look into a recoil reduction system I originally designed Contact shooting innovations (509) 793-6046 It stops all the noise and helps with recoil

Since I got ya'lls attention can one of you tell me if BTE low profile gas block adjust from the front, side or rear? Lerms

The left side. I'm glad I went and looked - I could have sworn it was on the right. Getting old sucks, and it's not for wimps.

I was really hoping you would say the front. I want a adjustable gas block for my .264lbc build but don't really want to mill a slot in the hand guard to access the screw. I'll be using a 15" keymod hand guard made by MI. The barrel is a 18" mid
length gas port. Looks like I may be stuck using Syrac Ordnance.
thanks for the response

I use vented HG's on mine. Not as sexy as the new stuff but they work..

A ball hex does wonders at reaching the screw from a slight angle if the hand guard vent doesn't line up perfect

It sits the gas tube to high in relation to the receiver. They also tend to have more problems associated with function. Unless you are using a solid tube for a hand guard, you can adjust the block from the side. Even if the adjustment screw doesn't line up, by using a ball end allen wrench. I have built countless uppers in this fashion.

wfa, That picture makes me thank it should work fine.
R Johnson, I was thinking about a ball end wrench but wasn't to sure, I have never used a adjustable block before I really have only built all 5.56 and one .450. This .264lbc I would like to try one out on and I was thinking of changing the barrel on
my 5.56 carbine to a midlength and put a adjustable gas block on it to.
This brings me to my next question. Whats a good way to sell your old barrels? I want to change everything over to BHW lol.

The recoil reduction system is a no go, the rifle version isn't ready for sale yet. I'm going to try to lightly lube the inside of the buffer tube, buffer and spring with some 130-A, hopefully this will help cut down on some of the noise. Maybe I can
make it to the range this weekend and find out. Thanks for all the help.
