Took the 6x6.8 for a hike this morning in the tall sage here in Central WA. Almost opted for a quick handling 16" .264 LBC but seeing I was really itching to see how the 90gr Accubond would perform out of the Black Hole 22" , 9 twist barrel, I grabbed the 6x6.8 and left the .264 LBC in the truck even though the 16" .264 LBC with the 2.5-10 was better suited for in close work, especially when in the tall sage, blowing them out of their beds. I shot this guy head down slithering away from me, the shot was slightly down hill, slightly quartered to me. Maybe 60 yards, the shot was from the bucks left side. It broke several ribs on the impact side and exited just behind the opposite shoulder. Destroyed the lungs and a piece of bullet fragment entered the heart but didn't exit. He dropped at the shot, dead right there. 90gr Accubond Barrett cases 28gr 8208 BR-4 primer 2.290 Shoots easy sub MOA at 300 yards. I have a second doe tag so I'm going to try the 95gr SST's , they shoot great with 27gr of 8208. The entrance(Impact) is on the right side of the photo. The exit is on the left in the photo.

Nice shooting Sir. Thank you for the post. I've got my American 30 on the back burner and thinking about another 6.8 variant. This has certainly peaked my interest.
Congratulations and thanks again, Glenn

Thanks..
Same here, I think my American 30 barrel is leaning in a corner somewhere. I have really enjoyed shooting the 6x6.8, there is a HUGE bullet selection. It has been extremely accurate, I'm thinking about doing a 18" or 20" light weight 25x6.8 next.

What can I say, Great minds think alike. I have two 6x45mm AR's. So I was thinking about an 18" or 20" 25x6.8 myself. So that may come about the next time BHW has another sale.

The Accubond was impressive on that one for sure.
