So a couple of weeks ago I loaded up some 77gr Nosler custom competition pills using RL-15. I made it to the range today for some testing. Starting from the lower end and working up to the high end I ran 5 shot groups at 100 yards. The odd thing is the starting load produced the smallest group. It was 4 rounds clover leaf with a flyer. After the starting load the groups opened up the slightly closed for the last 2, but they were right around .75"-1". I would like the velocity to get me further downrange without much drop. I my try the 69gr to see if that helps but those are really only good to about 600yards, then the wind blows them off a good bit. The other issue I am having is my Burris 1-4 mtac reticle has a center dot that covers my point of aim completely at 100 yards. I am thinking of investing in a new SWFA ss x6 scope which has a thinner reticle which might help. BTW: the rifle has a 16" BHW 1:8 twist

If you're covering your aiming point you are just tossing bullets down range on a prayer. Your POA must be bigger than the dot/cross hairs. Better to have a square and shoot at the corners than cover up and wander around like a dog looking for a lost bone.

agreed. I am looking at getting a 6 power swfa scope. I like the burris for quick acquisition, but precision it lacks.
