I have a bunch of Federal 7.62x39 cases that I would like to convert to 264 LBC. Rather than spending the time and expense of fire-forming the cases, I am looking at the Hornady and Whidden Hydraulic Form dies to do the initial conversion. Does anyone have experience with either of these? (or others?)

Rather than spending the time and expense of fire-forming the cases, I am looking at the Hornady and Whidden Hydraulic Form dies to do the initial conversion. Does anyone have experience with either of these? (or others?) There are 2 reasons NOT to do this. #1 You can buy a lot of bullets and powder for the cost of the dies to form the cases. It would be easier to sell the brass and buy Grendel brass with the proceeds. #2 Once you have your brass roughly formed you still have to fire form it to sharpen up the corners. It won't be at full capacity until it has been fired. After you have gone through all the steps your brass will come up somewhere around .050 short. Not a big deal but still not exactly what your after.
