Hello all, I am building a 264lbc with 24" BHW barrel. Hope to have it complete over the next few months. I want to shoot long range. I am debating side charging upper vs. the standard design. What is everyone's opinion for side charging this round, does it need a larger ejection port?

The mil spec port will work until you get to the 450-458 calipers.

I have a side charging upper on my 264. I found it easy to charge the rifle in the prone position. Fulton Armory has some really nice upper at a good price. Another plus it the uppers are heavier which is a more stable platform for those heavy long barrels

I also built one using gibbz arms upper on a mag tactical lower. I love the side charging uppers.and the bhw barrel shoots one hole groups at 100 yards.and that grendel round is my favorite round to shoot. All around win. You won't be dissapointed and it will likely be your favorite gun to shoot

I have looked at gibbz and Fulton, they all are pretty nice, is different. I have been considering the Eisenach, which is also thicker than standard. Some people on the internet talk about breaking bolts because the uppers are out of square, puts too much stress on the bolts when ejecting. Have any of you seen any issues such as that with any of them?

Those are good results. That set up is working well. I am hoping to build mine with results like that. Side charging seems the way to go. Did you go with a 2 stage trigger or is it a standard trigger. I am debating on the 2 stage drop in trigger or the 2 stage standard pinned style.
