New to this forum and BHW barrels, but not to reloading for an AR 15. I just purchased an 18 inch 1/8, medium contour, mid length gas port barrel. I am hoping to reduce load development time with a little help from all the good folks on this forum So here goes. What are your pet loads with 68 Hdy or 69 Sie bullets? I am using Tac powder. How much and at what length? Thanks in advance

After taking the long road on my first heavy (69 gr) reloads, here is what I found: 1. The heavier bullets do not like the faster powders, TAC, in my case 2. Some of the stick powders like AR COMP and IMR 8208 xbr will meter fairly accurately 3. You don't always need a magnum primer 4. My fist BHW barrel is sub MOA all day long
After getting 3" and larger groups at 100 yds with 68 bthp bullets and TAC, I went with AR Comp and Sierra's 69 bthp. Night and day difference. I now have a consistent sub MOA load I suspect may get even smaller with seating depth adjustments. Love the new barrel!

TAC is a bit fast for some and often, as you found, a bullet change is in order. Some guys swear and cuss because they wantto shoot "THAT" bullet. Total waste of time and effort. The barrel will tell you what it will shoot not the other way around. Greg
