After a long wait and much R&D work by the Black Hole crew the 7.62X39's will be seeing the light of day. Carl and JP have been teasing this project along for going on two years now. By his own admission Carl has been hitting the range big time with this project and he is happy. JP tells me that he has been getting MOA using basic Tula ammunition so that shows great promise for the average guy and gets this handloading tweakers attention PDQ. So here is what I got a week or so ago in my E-mail.
We will be making a large run of three lengths of barrels as a bulk order for our dealers and for our RTS shelf stock. The three configurations are: 14.5” 7.62x39 1x9.5 C5 gas length 5/8 threads with gas tube and C5 gas block.
16” 7.62x39 1x9.5 C5 gas length 5/8 threads with gas tube and C5 gas block.
18” 7.62x39 1x9.5 Carbine length 5/8 threads without gas block and tube.
The C5 was designed to smooth out the recoil and also give longer life to the gas tubes that could be an issue in heavy rapid fire with the pistol length. It eliminates the shakier reliability on the 16" guns with carbine gas. The 18" has a carbine system.
I'll post up when these hit but meanwhile I have assembled everything to laod one with. Brass, bullets and powder are GTG. Shooters Pro Shop had a smoking bargain on .311 bullets and I suggest you check it out.

Go to columbiariverarms.com/configure-your-custom-barrelSelect your configuration. Place your order. Mention you are a member here for 10% discount. Price is based on what you order. BHW id not a one size fits all company. They build the barrel you want when you order it ad opposed to some that say this is what we have and you don't need anything else. And, Oh BTW, we MIGHT have that barrel in six or seven months so be sure and check in every day. If you have any problems with the website call them directly. You will get better response than using e-mail. Greg
