Rifle specs - 20" BHW bull 1/7 twist Brass - LC - brand new then fired from my barrel Bullet - 77gr Nosler CC no cannelure but slight crimp Primer -CCI no-41 Loaded to mag length and all measured at ogive
Okay so I loaded up some rounds for test with brand new lake city brass (2015 headstamp). Chronodata was a 30-40 FPS spread - all rounds double weighed on chargemaster and gempro scale. I have had great luck with this load - RL15 in once fired brass with spreads in the teens
With that in mind I am hoping that SD will come down with using the brass a second time around. I setup my new redding small base type-s bushing die. For sake of giving a measurement once fired brass measures .470. I ran through the die and measured at .465 for most rounds. Unfired brass measures .460. Now here is the kicker ---> for some reason a few once fired pieces started at .470 but ended up at .460. What gives? I am thing its the amount of sizing wax I am using and should switch to a lanoline/alcohol mix.
Also I am thinking of reworking up the load using a more stable primer. the 41s are great for ARs and the Rem 7.5s tended to flatten early. I have close to 900 of the wolf small rifle magnums and wonder if anyone has ever used these for .223
