Not sure if this is the place to put this, so please move if not. I recently purchased, and built, a 20" .264LBC and am wanting more (of course). Anyway, being an ironworker by trade I truly appreciate and understand the idea behind the shot-peening on your barrels. The only thing is that I love the look of stainless steel. But I was wondering if the shot-peening is that much more effective than just the machine finish on the stainless steel? I guess I want the best of both worlds, but not sure if I can have it? Thanks.

The shot peened barrels have been a bit more consistent from barrel to barrel over the past couple of years compared to the non-peened. I shoot mostly machine finish but have maybe eight or nine peened barrels. They all shoot well for me so I never thought much about it. Machined 243 LBC 26" Savage. Greg

Thank you, that definitely eases some concerns. Now time to think some more and play out a few scenarios in my mind. Many thanks again. Oh, by the way, damn fine shooting too!
