Hello, I was curious to know if a customer can request a specific chamber profile. From looking at the website, it looks like you use 6.8 SPC II chamber on you're barrels; I would like the DMR chamber, along with you're Poly rifling. Is that possible ? I think that would be the ideal set up.
Thanks, Joe

There is no recognized industry standard DMR chamber just like there is no true industry standard Wylde chamber. This was shot at 100 yards with a BHW 6.8.All five shot groups from a 16" AR. I'm quite sure that would carry the mail for most of us. Greg

No doubt, it would make anyone happy, I would hope. What load was that? I was just thinking that if the "DMR" chamber had the longer throat to reduce pressure(SPC II), and tighter neck it would be ideal especially combined with the Poly 3 rifling. Thanks for writing, Joe

Thanks for writing, Joe The load is on the target. The DMR I am aware of has the SPC II neck but the body was cut undersized and this causes issues with some factory ammunition being on the tight side. Not what you want in a working gun. To get down to the nut cutting there is no industry standard SPC II chamber for that matter. I've seen 0.110 free bore quoted then I read about 0.080 and regulars being a bit shorter with some guys starting to move the free bore closer and closer and decreasing over the alleged SPC II length based on the realization that no one in the industry is going to load above SPCI, original, pressures period. All the TACTICAL stuff has gone away and Remington is not going to step in and change a SAAMI cartridge to the tune of about $250,000. SAAMI is not going to approve any identical but different cartidge that can be fed into a lesser equipped chamber that could not handle the pressures and loading lengths. Those that seek to stretch out and load heavy for caliber bullets and open up magazine wells, which we have done several years ago on some production lowers BTW straight from the factory, to load longer are dabblers just like any wildcatters. The marketing of that ammunition is going to be fraught with legal ramifications if things go off track in the field. Super Vel went this route many years ago and with society being extremely sue conscious it is a shark pool I would approach from a very safe distance. Greg

10-4, I understand and agree with everything you are saying. I guess what really bugs me is Remington. I grew up with a 725 I got from my dad and I bled "Big Green". But the more I see, I just can't understand their thought process. 280 Remington, 6mm Remington, 30 Remington AR, to name a few and then screwing up the 6.8. I know they've had some great successes too, but the 6.8 is soo good for what it is, a hunting cartridge in an AR15 platform, and then to see how it has to be underloaded because of the original chamber.
Anyway, done venting, thanks Joe
