I have a heavy 22" barrel 6x45. Joy to shoot but not to carry any distance. It shoots both 55gr and 70gr loads into nice ragged holes and love what it does on varmints.
So I'm building a light 6x45 for varmints and lots of walking. I have a BHW barrel 16" light contour midlength gas on order. Already have the Spikes tactical upper/ lower, Ace stock. I like the skeleton stock and foam cheek is great when shooting in the winter. I will be using an old Yankee hill light weight fore end, has some pretty good size holes to keep the weight down. The scope will be a Vortex 2.5-10x44 PST. I will post more when done and give an update.

Sounds good. It should be a fun one when done.
