Here is a picture of a couple pieces of brass I annealed which ones are right? The one I just went till I seen a slight color change it's just a little darker colored then the rest of the brass the other one I held it on the flame till it was rainbow colored kind of. Now is it just the neck u want to anneal or the shoulder too?

You want to do the necks and shoulder area. There will of course be a bleed over to the shoulder a bit when you get the neck. Get some TEMPLAQUE (SP?) to get the temperature look down. Look at some LC brass and you will see how far they anneal on them. You only need to go down about 1/4" or so on them.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=fiIrLvAUh6oI'm not sure how to post a link but this is the best video on annealing I've ever seen. I use a battery drill with a socket that I can dump the case out easy and a propane torch. After you do a few cases you'll figure out how many seconds it takes and it goes pretty quick. Be careful not to burn your fingers, that socket gets pretty hot after a few cases. I just drop the cases on the concrete floor to cool as I go. That stuff about quenching them in water is for the birds as far as I can tell.
