Hello everyone I loaded some sierra 75 gr hp bullets to a col 2.250 was checking to make sure bolt would close. I could not get the bolt open!! A couple of taps with a rubber mallet and when I did the bullet was stuck in the in the barrel and powder all over ?? So I did some measuring which I should've done in the first place. My measurements with the Sierra 75 gr hp col 2.155? My measurement to the Ogive 1.820? Does this sound right?? any help would be appreciated

What you describe is normally a case that needs the shoulder bumped back. A long load will not keep the bolt from opening in most cases but if your numbers are right you were up in there 0.100 and I would expect the bullet to pull causing some extra effort. Some of the wildcat chambers are designed short for better accuracy. Greg Where in AZ?

No l should work there I spend enough time and money!! We should meet up. I got nothing but time. Also benchmark was no Bueno!! I got serious pressure signs at about 29 gr. So I picked up some 8208 and I will try some with lighter bullets.

Are these barrels typically throated for the lighter bullets?

Mine loves 87 Hornady Varmint, non-AMAX , and the 58's. Greg
