Hello is my report for my 20" BHW 22 Nosler barrel. The upper and lower are Aero Precision. Optic is a Vortex 4-16LR in an ADM mount. CMC trigger and UTG Pro 17" handguard and adjustable gas block, standard BCG. I played around with the 22 Nosler in a couple of barrels, AR Stoner and Odin Works, while waiting for my BHW barrel to get here. With factory ammo I found the pressure to be high and couldn't save the brass without using an adjustable gas block in any barrel. And with a carbine length buffer tube needed a 5oz. buffer. On to my BHW barrel. My first three shots with my BHW barrel and factory ammo produced two pierced primers. I closed the gas block down to close to an half a turn open to zero with the factory ammo. With the factory 55gr load I chronoed it at 3500fps from my 20" BHW barrel. Thats 200fps more than Nosler lists on the ammo box. With hand loads I was able to get some pretty decent accurate loads. Powders were H322, 2000MR, N540, and CFE223. Primers were Federal GMM SR and Federal AR Match. All were loaded to fit the mag. Bullets were Hornady 40gr Vmax, 55gr Vmax, 68gr BTHP, and 65gr Sierra SBT. My velocities were close to what Nosler has listed in their data for respective bullet weights. And I can't load any photos... G.

Sounds like a good first trip. Get the Hodgdon data and you'll really fly. Looking forward to shooting mine with the rest of my test loads plus I have some HAGAR brass I'm going to try.

Any plans to try some heavy bullets? And how did the Hornady 68's shoot?

Looks like a great start. On that ammo I'd get with Nosler. This isn't a rare occurrence so they ought to make it good. Heck tell them you want bras not rounds.

Any plans to try some heavy bullets? And how did the Hornady 68's shoot? The 68gr Hornady BTHP are shooting really well out this barrel. I posted some pics of the groups I shot with them. I plan to develop loads for each 40gr,50gr,60-68gr, and 70gr bullets. G.
