What are everyones thoughts on a 16 inch barrel for my aero precision build. It will mostly be my hunting rig. Most shots will be ranging from 50 to 200 yards. I live in texas now where the deer dont get huge but the hogs are a different story. I also plan on moving to kansas by next yr so it will be my main hunting rifle. Any thoughts and advice is greatly appreciated.

You will of course give up about 200 FPS over a more normal 22" but that won't hurt you much. Hand loading gives you lots of options but with the new commercial stuff they have you covered no matter what you are chasing. I think I'd prefer an AR15 size rifle over the 10 but then I'm lazy..LOL Humping those big boys wear me out but everyone gets to choose what they want. A 20" 243 LBC or 6X6.8 will just about match the 16" 243 in speeds with the same bullets and is so much easier on your shoulder. Keep us posted as the build develops and gets used. Greg

Glshooter so u thinking an ar15 platform will get me the same results. What about a 6x45 i know u mentioned the 6x6.8 but i have more 223 brass. I also found the 7.62x40 by wilson combat but i wanted to stay away from 30 cal pills.

Load it up to 60000 psi and blast away. Greg

What dies do i need for the 243 lbc or 6x6.8 Grendel for the LBC and 6.8 for the others. There's plenty of threads here on them both to give you perspective. Greg
