Hello, So I just received my Sanders Armory side charged upper receiver (my second one) and of course I will be installing a BHW 18in mid-length barrel for the 264 LBC/type one chamber. My question is whats the difference between a standard 7.62x39 bolt and a .125 so called Grendel bolt if any, to run this thing? The internet has a lot of confusing info. I already have a 6.5 Grendel type II build and I love it but I also love BHW barrels so I'm building a second one, any and all info would help.

The 7.62X39 is what you want. Using a Type II Grendel bolt that is 0.135 in depth will cause excessive head space.
The LBC has a more standard throat and tighter neck. I believe accuracy is often superior because of those two things.

Yes sir you are correct and I knew that the Grendel II uses a different spec/.135, I got the T-shirt on that one, I was just confused on the Grendel 1's .125 bolt and the 7.62x39 being one and the same? There is some price gouging on some Ar merchant sights that sell the so called G-1 bolts / bolt heads for more money when a standard x39 bolt/ bolt head are the same thing. I guess my "Q" is are they really one and the same is it just nomenclature?. Surplus Ammo and arms sells the 6.5 G1 / x39 bolt head for their BHW LBC barrels and my Sanders Armory upper receiver comes with the 7.62x39 bolt included, my reasoning of course is why buy the bolt head from SAA if I don't have to. Thanks for your knowledgeable input I really appreciate your time to answer my post, SEMPER-FI Bob...

They are one in the same bolt. I've bought from maybe six suppliers and they were all 7.62. I would laugh at someone that told me their bolt was LBC. TYPE I GRENDEL, specific and charge more. Greg

That's what I figured but I am always careful when it comes to something that can remove a trigger finger and a shooting eye, lol. There are still a lot of confused folks out there on this issue( gathered from various forums on this subject) and I admit I was one of them so I came to get it from the horses mouth so to speak. Thanks again Greg I will be back to read more good stuff! SEMPER-FI Bob....
