Ok sorry if this is a totally noob question, but... Ive seen other barrel makers say they pre headspace thier barrels, and all you need to do is install the barrel, slap in your BCG and your good. Dont you need the bolt, to headspace?

Dont you need the bolt, to headspace? Given a bolt made to standard specs 99.9% of the AR's out there will head space up with no problem. It is prudent to check the headsspce with gauges though you can do this wiithout the actual gauge by fireforming a case with pistol powder and corn meal to chamber size and then checking it against the specs of the datum line. I would always confirm with the armorer, gunsmith or manufacturer. Tolerances are so tight that this is not needed most of the time. I do check them always anyway as I have the gauges but I would doubt this is recommended. For match systems I send the bolt in or I buy the barrel with the bolt for a tight matched fit. I am pretty sure you will get a reply from someone from the BHW. They are very good at responding to any BHW barrel specific concerns. Cheers.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I do plan on buying a BHW barrel, hopefully soon. I dont have the BCG yet, so its all just me thinking ahead. Everyone who knows me says I over analyze everything.
