BTW all these loads were taken from Hodgdon. I won't put up any thing that is not in an mainstream manual. They worked for me but there is no guarantee that they will run for you.

WOW that Hornady 87 is 100fps more than my 20" barrels using VLD mags. I cannot wait for the 24" any longer.... going past 4 months wait as of now... How long did you have to wait for your barrel? Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info! 3 months thanks to the special order goodies. The 748 is far from the best powder out there for this one. I'll be testing more soon once I replenish my 87 grain supply. I think that maybe H4895 will be a good one to sling down range or the RL15 that shines with the 69's in 223 match guns. Greg

748 is amzing I agree. H4895 should do ok too. I like varget to develop hunting loads. I have a can of superformance. there might not be enough case capacity but we will see. Some think is the same powder that goes into the hornady ammo, some say it is not. It is hard to know who is right or wrong so I am going to open some loads and compare the powders when I get the barrel.

Varget might at the heavy weight area. I wlil also try IMR 8208 XBR but I head that it is not quite as fast on the big boys. I don't have the skill to open up a factory case and KNOW I am looking at the same powder I have on the shelf. I'm way to old to try and learn that one. The coatings could be slightly different and I would assume that they were the same. There in lies danger, IMHO. Greg

I got my barrel on friday, my wife had not told me anything about a package for me until today, sunday. My barrel is LTM 14.5" with 1:9 and looks like a million bucks. However, I am not sure about the polygonal rifling....it looks like standard 3 grooves rifling to my naked eyes; or at least not like any polygonal rifling I have seen before.
I'll put everything together post pictures the first chance I get. Rage report to follow.
