What are some good, factory-load ammo options for a BHW 16" midlength in 6.8 SPC Spec II?
My new upper build will not be a high-volume shooter and will probably only use high quality factory match/hunting rounds. I have seen plenty of ammo for 6.8 SPC, but not sure if there is a specific brand or specification that shoots more accurately in Spec II chambers...
I am still learning about the 6.8 SPC and would invite others to share on their shooting experience with BHW barrels...Thoughts?

No such thing as spc 2 ammo. Silver State Armory makes tactical loads which are hotter than most commercial loads to date.
Hornadys new 120sst load is quite accurate and killer on hogs and deer.

Hornady is small primer. Corbon is typically large but not consistent. And yes, my favorite is the 85gr rrlp/mpg loads. Clocking in at 3000 fps out of my first 18" WC barrel.

I forgot to add; The SPC II ammo is either higher than 55.000psi &/or the COL has been extended past standard ammo(COAL around 2.260) SAAMI freebore (.050) .

I have read good things about the 85gr Barnes TSX and the 95 gr Barnes TTSX. Any experience with these loads especially for hunting?

I assume it is ok to shoot both commercial and tactical ammo in all BHW 6.8 barrels?

Can anyone provide me with the recommended bullet weights and velocities for the BHW 6.8 SPC II barrels? I guess what I am looking for is the appropriate ranges of weight and speed for accuracy and safety.

Do you want load data, or what commercially loaded ammunition is available?

I am new to the AR platform and 6.8SPC. My question is about what are the recommended ranges for bullet weights such as 80 - 120 gr and suggested muzzle velocity 2500 -3000 fps. I am trying to understand what boundaries to stay within for safety and accuracy.

I am trying to understand what boundaries to stay within for safety and accuracy. You are right on for bullets and speed. Follow published load data and you will be fine. As for commercially loaded ammunition you should be able to shoot all of it safely.

I plan to try Silver State Armory 85gr Barnes TSX and the 95 gr Barnes TTSX in my 6.8 that I am building. In a few months, I will report on how they do for targets and hogs.
