Finally pulled the trigger. Ordered an 18 inch standard profile barrel with a rifle length gas system. Now the hard part, waiting for it to get here. I am excited to get this rifle put together.

As this is my first AR platform rifle, I went with 5.56mm.

If they are as good as I think they are, I will be ordering more for future projects. If only they would make replacement Remington 700 barrels and a good 5" poly barrel for my Springfield XD 45. I would buy both.

I am all itchy to get this barrel. I know good things come to those who wait but the waiting is horrible. I guess I can use the time to get my reloading dies and a good starting supply of ammo for break in. Cheap Federal American Eagle alright for barrel break in? Any opinions? Kizmet, any idea on the next time you guys are going to be running 5.56 Standard profile barrels, rifle length gas system, 18"? My dad has had his AR together since before Christmas, I chose to wait and get exactly what I wanted, now that everything has been ordered it is so hard to be patient. Once it is in expect pictures and a range report as soon as it is sighted in.

I don't know specifics for 5.56 standard barrels. I know today they're running a bunch of .308 and 5.56 M4 orders through the CNC machines. I think there's 5.56 stock being reamed and rifled today as well but as to when that is scheduled for the CNCs, I'm not sure. I personally am running 300 blackout barrels in my laser for shipping today.

I just placed my order today too. I know your feeling as to waiting. It has only been about 10 min. and my trigger finger has an itch. Hope my 5.56 16" LTM could be one of those being profiled. Kizmit is that possible?

Alright, this past Monday was seven weeks since my order was placed. Per Stacy she was running 18" barrels as of Monday and I am looking at 5 to 10 days for delivery. I almost can't believe it. I hope everything goes well in QC. When it gets here I will post pictures.

lol Brandon dave: That's because someone was a bit over excited to get it to you and they skipped my station. I knew you were on the production list for that week and when you hadn't reached my desk by the end of the week, well...you know the rest. We've already got it back and I'm actually putting your lasering on it right now. It'll be shipping out today!

Thanks Kristen, I understand. PalmettoShootersForum.com, here in South & North Carolina is having a bi-annual Shootzenfest (sic) tomorrow. I was all set to show that barrel off to about 100+ other shooters. They will just have to wait til the Fall Gathering. ;D
