Is it possible to have a mid-length gas system on a 14.5" barrel?
Would it be worthwhile? Do you think it would reduce the recoil impulse and force on the moving parts?
It would look pretty awesome with the handguard going to the start of the muzzle device.
Ohh! And a side question. Does BHW assemble rifles if paid to do so? I'll probably just email them...

Do you think it would reduce the recoil impulse and force on the moving parts?Yes, everything that I have read states that it does reduce the recoil impulse just like a 16" midlength compared to a carbine gas system. It makes for a very soft shooting gun.
It would look pretty awesome with the handguard going to the start of the muzzle device. If you are using iron sights you also get the benefit of a longer sight radius.
The build that I am planning now is probably going to be a 14.5" with a midlength gas system.

Do you think it would reduce the recoil impulse and force on the moving parts? Andy says it's not that noticeable.

We aren't accepting new projects at this moment. Simply because we don't enough available time for those capable to putting them together and we need them on the shop floor.
I'd recommend getting in touch with Ritch of RPG customs (R Johnson here on the forum), as he does some great build work and has assembled a lot of builds for us in the past. A few of the other guys here may also have recommendations/contacts if you're looking for someone that specializes in a specific build type.

Is it possible to have a mid-length gas system on a 14.5" barrel? Yes, I have one in 6x45. You can see a picture of it on the "Photo Album" tab of this forum under "Here is my project" post.
Would it be worthwhile? Do you think it would reduce the recoil impulse and force on the moving parts? It is hard for me to tell because I use an Adams Arms Piston System and I strongly beleive it damps down the recoil, so I don't know if it becasue of the mid-length or because of the piston
It would look pretty awesome with the handguard going to the start of the muzzle device. The barrel still has about 2 inches of distance between the gas block and the muzzle device, see pictures of mine on the photo albums. Plus garand308 is absolutly right, I use iron sights and it is considerable a better shooter than a carbine length.
Ohh! And a side question. Does BHW assemble rifles if paid to do so? I'll probably just email them...I was amaized at how simple it is to put together an upper reciver all on my own. There is quite a selection of step by step videos on youtube if you ever deside to try it on your own.

Thank you for the awesome responses folks!
Sorry I took so long to answer. The internet isn't very good down here in Cuba.
I think I'm set on a 14.5" barrel with the LTM profile and mid-length gas system.
I'm also thinking about using a longer handguard to cover up the gas block.
