I am looking at 6x6.8 as my first foray into wildcat cartridges. Any advice on the dies I will be needing to reload, and to form my own brass from 6.8 SPC?

First you will need a 6.8 SPC Type S bushing die made by Redding. Part # 77259 also you will need to change the decapping stem assembly to either a 6mm or .22 Part # 15203 for the 22 or 10242 for the 6mm. I use 2 bushings a .285 Which I run as a first step and then change out to a .267 and finish necking down the brass. I have found this method of using a two step process to be more uniform.
For a seating die you can use any Hornady 6mm-243 seating die adjusted to seat bullets to the proper depth.

I found a full length 6.8 spc die from RCBS, RCBS #: 13329, and a 6mm ppc decapping rod, RCBS #: 9837. Would these work as well? Is there an advantage to the Redding Type S over this?

No they will not work. The 6.8 sizer won't squeeze the necks down to 6MM. Either a Redding or other bushing die or the easy peasey CH4D 6MM REMINGTON SPC sizer. Greg

Currently fiddling with a redding #1 form die in 6mm ppc, also a Lee 6ppc collet die, body size with a 6.8-expander. It all looks good but waiting on the barrel to see for sure.

Easiest way as far as dies go is to call CH4D and tell them you want a die set for 6mm SPC. They're really well made and if I remember correctly, they're less than $90. 6.8 case goes in and 6x6.8 comes out slick as can be. The seater makes straight rounds too. I've got redding bushing dies for other things but you can't beat the dies CH4D makes for the money.
