Just finished my rifle after getting the barrel in Friday, started to do break in, and attempted to use a AR stoner Grendel mag I bought from Midway.
rounds would feed from left side of stack in magazine, but anytime rifle tried to pick up a round from the right side, the round fails to feed. looks like the rounds do not protrude far enough from the magazine to feed properly.
Funny part is, I grabbed a 5.56 Pmag I had close by, and had 0 problems. rounds feed fine. I was only loading 5 at a time for the break in procedure, but they seem to work great.

That is no good, I just ordered one of those from Midway, hope it is like others out there where some work and some do not, and I really hope mine works.

I had a problem like that with mine, I had to modify follower a touch and squeeze the mag back in at the top so follower wouldnt cock over near the top. I ended up getting a pri 6.8 mag, and no problems with it at all.

Glad to hear that, though mine is still on backorder, I have no need for it right away as I am still building my 264.

I have similar issues with the two AR-Stoners I have. Both 10 round mags will feed fine until the 2nd to last round. Then I get a FTF, with dented cases as my reward. Last round feeds fine. I've ordered a couple of ASC mags, at Greg's and Ritch's recommendation, and don't plan on torturing any more cases with the Stoner mags. Update: On closer examination, I noticed the Blue followers in these mags have ASC embossed on one side of the follower. It makes me wonder if Midway shipped these instead of the AR-Stoners I'd ordered, or if AR-Stoner is OEM'ing the ASC's. Now I don't know if I should buy two more potentially troublesome mags from ASC.

Greg - they do have AR-Stoner markings on the bottoms, but appear to be using ASC followers.
The ASC mags I just ordered were 17 rd-SS at $18 each + shipping. Midway sold the 10 rd Stoners at $15 each, + shipping.
In the meantime, I tried some 20rd PMags, which functioned fine, for a couple loads. They also experienced bolt overruns, but on the last round, not the 2nd to last.
Man, this makes me feel dense.

I have 4 Stoner, 6.5 Grendel mags. All are 10 rounders for hunting. They function perfectly fine in both my. 264LBC, BHW upper equipped rifles. I've put a lot of rounds thru 2 of the mags dog shooting in South Dakota. Just thought I'd mention that. Might help calm a few nerves. Maybe I just got lucky. I've had them for about 8 months if that helps.
Update: Well good ole "Murphy" paid me a visit while at the range today and both my AR Stoner mags started the same FTF issues that other guys have had. one has been used over the past 9 months and the other was fairly new. Neither have a lot of rounds they them. oh well back to trying to find a more reliable 6.5 Grendel mag. I only use the 10 rounder mags because that the max where I hunt and they are way easier to use shooting of the bench at the range.
