So, I'm looking to get into one of these. Not sure if I want to build my own upper and piece it together as I get the cash or can I get a complete upper from BHW?
I really like the numbers on this caliber and I would have more reach/punch than the 6x45 that I just sold.
Also is there pricing on the barrels for these somewhere?

BHW doesn't normally do complete uppers. The Store Web Site is having issues and is not showing the barrels. Take a look at the standard 264 LBC pricing and it will be very close. You could call BHW at one of the listed numbers and they could give you a firm number. Greg

Cool. Thanks for the replies and pricing. I should have some cash early next week to place the order.

Do I need to get a 6.5 Grendel bolt from somewhere else or does BHW have them? I'm just trying to get all the parts together. Barrel, mags, bolt and firing pin are all that's left I think to finish the build, everything else should start showing up next week.
I need to start gathering some reloading supplies too.

Tactical Ammunition MAY have bolts but extractors were not in last I talked to em.
When you order ask for a type bolt you want and order accordingly. Type 1 is a 7.62x39 bolt. Type two is an Alexander Arms bolt with the 0.135-.138" headspace.
I order direct from AA so I have the appropriate extractors for that type headspace.

I'm assuming that when I order the barrel I'll need to state which bolt I'm planning on using correct?

I honestly prefer the x39 bolts because the extractors and bolts are available from several vendors. Ar15performance is going to start manuf bolts again as well next year. Just FYI.

The BHW is a TYPE II chamber. You want a TYPE II bolt or you will lose 0.010 shoulder height and therefore capacity. The super bolt from ARP is a good idea IMHO. Greg PS: If you use a TYPE I there is a good chance you couldn't use factory ammunition. I don't so I don't care either way.

Thanks for the info. I've got some of the parts and should be getting a few more tomorrow.
I'll get a bolt and barrel ordered in the next week or two, then I need all the reloading items... Seems like it never ends.

Greg PS: It is when you make a caliber change from 223 and up down to 20 and 17 it gets REAL expnsive..qucik!!
