I'm new to the 6x45 and trying to figure out an ideal load for accuracy. I am planning on letting some kids that I mentor use if for deer hunting next year and am looking for a good load. I have some 100 gr and 80 gr Speers loaded but am not getting great accuracy. Can someone recommend a good hunting bullet for this caliber? Basically, the reason I want to use this is that the kids I would be taking hunting are not very big and are recoil sensitive. It would likely be used on doe or fawn mule deer.
Thanks!

Look at the Sierra 75 GK. Go to Hodgdon and get a heavy charge of 8208, or H4895 and push em. Load to mag length and go kill some deer.

I will try that. I was hoping to stick with Speer since I can get them at a pretty good discount through work. But, putting the bullet where I want it is more important, right? I'm using Rem 71/2 primers and Win brass. I have an 18", 1 in 10 barrel. Any recommended starting loads?
Thanks again!

I'd like to add a question here as well, regarding the possibility of doing a 6x45 AR...
On bullets, I tend to obsess over the relationship between bullet length, bullet weight, and barrel twist rate.
So, given the .224 bullet weights of 55gr, 62gr, and 75gr, what would be, in terms of length, the .243 equivalents (for example, would a 90gr .243 bullet be about the same length of a 75gr .224 bullet, etc.), assuming the same bullet type (ie- Open Tip Match, Ballistic Tip Varmint, Swift A-Frame, etc)?

Jkh. I used the 75 gr. Sierra varminter hollow point this past year on a large Montana whitetail doe and it performed admirably. This wasn't my first choice of bullet for deer before I used it but because of how amazing it shot out of my 20" bhw barrel and my past experience of using lighter varmint bullets on antelope from a 22-250, I knew it would get the job done. At 160 yards I went behind the shoulder and it exited and turned the lungs into butter. It's a cheap bullet to boot. Doesn't have the best bc but works good IMHO on everything from p dogs to deer

The TNT is a great bullet in the 6X45 for PD'S. I guess the OP was happy as he has not been on the board since late May. LOL Greg
