I'm a South Florida police officer and new to this forum. I would have liked to have joined the military but being an only child my mother was very protective of me and would not let that happen. I became a police officer after she past away at age 49. I was a bit older than most when I began my career so I'm a little late in the game. Any way I wanted to say thank you to all the servicemen and women who defend this great nation.

Hey folks,
12 years law enforcement. 1 1/2 with INS (now ICE) in a regional office, 3 years as a deputy sheriff, and the rest as a local police officer. Served in many capacities and currently on my second tour as a detective.
Im one of my dept. armorers. We carry GLOCKs (22 and 23 with a smattering of 21s and 27s) and AR15 carbines (mostly M-4s).
Thankks to all who served, are serving, and our next generation of military and law enforcement.
Max M.

Thanks GL.
Lookin forward to trying out my 6x45. I dumped my 6.8 (too expensive) and I'm enjoying reading up on loading the 6x45.
Looks like a lot of good folks around here.

Retired out of the Army in 2006. Spent first 10 years in the Infantry. Last years were Army Research, Development and Acquisition. I fielded the first HMMWV and the first C-RAM in Iraq, worked on Javelin Missile, digital fire control system for the Bradley, and several others others.
Both sons now serving in the Army, one is Special Forces and the other is Airborne Infantry.

I first want to say thank you to everybody here for their military and law enforcement service. I spent 7 years in the Navy (1969-1976). Spent lots of time floating around off the coast of Vietnam. I then spent 20 years working for the Navy as a civilian. I took an early retirement from that and went to work as a deputy sheriff. I did firearms instruction and was in charge of our patrol operations. After 12 years of that I figured I was getting too old for law enforcement work and I retired. Now I spend my days shooting, reloading and watching cooking shows. lol. It's a tough job but somebody has to do it.

Hey all,
I'm currently active duty Army National Guard over here in UT. I've been to Iraq and back. As the original topic says, I'm ALSO glad to see the topic/forum. Thank you ALL for your service. I appreciate it and your dedication.

GW70 - Appreciate your work on the C-RAM...it was always comforting and super-cool to hear one cut loose during my second tour...I would have slept better during the first if we'd had one around.

Thought I would kick this thread back to life.
USN 1971 - 1992. Went a lot of places, did a lot of jobs. Got to see and do things most people can only dream about. Retired as a CPO.
Started a LEO career 6 months after retiring from the Navy. Retired in April as a Patrol Sergeant/Watch Commander.
Now loading, shooting, camping and exploring the Nevada desert.
Thanks to all for their service.
