I live in West Richland Washington about 60 miles from BHW. I am looking for someone located near me or with someone with a lot of patience (by email) to help me build a 6.8 SPC for hog and maybe deer hunting in Texas. I would like to build around a BHW 16 inch mid gas barrel. Also, any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am an experience duck hunter and have shot some big game animals, but have very limited knowledge relative to ARs. Thanks in advance.

You kind of picked a bad time to build with prices being what they are.
Good luck on the build though.
Check out PK Firearms, last week they had Rock River Arms 6.8 BOLTS (not the complete Bolt and Bolt Carrier) for $65.00, not bad at all considering. I was tempted to get one but I already have a spare. They are out of stock now but keep an eye out on their site.
Visit places such as Bravo Company USA, JSE Surplus, Surplus Ammo and Arms, just to name a few for hit n miss parts availability. Some places are not raising their prices, some are.

Were I looking to have something built, Ritch would definitely be on my short list based on what I've seen here & other sites even though he is nowhere near me geographically. FWIW. -Mike

LOL Unless you are gonna stand there while the guy builds it it is a moot point. I've probably had thirty guns custom built and rode herd on twenty of them because my best friends have all been gunsmiths....imagine that!! LOL That being said I never worried about the other ten. I was hoping to find some one near me so I could look at something they have built. But, more importantly, I would like to learn something during the build?

For what it's worth man look into a .300 Blackout build. It uses all standard 5.56 parts like mags and BCG so you can just swap barrels and have 2 calibers. The 6.8 has a lot more recoil than Black and doesn't bring much more to the table power wise to make up for the short comings in my mind. Just a thought, if you want a 6.8 then more power to ya. Good luck on the build man.
