Okay I would like to get into this whole 300 AAC Blk thing. Why is due to I the the big slow moving projectile that that it throws and it does it well. I know range is very limited but I am cool with that. I got other pill poppers form that. What it does do to fit my bill is that it can be a heck of a CQB type of rifle I can use for home defense. i could also do some deep brush deer and hog hunt as well a just have a really cool rifle. But now here is where I am stuck. With the current political situation a ATF Form 1 tax stamp is 200 dollars. And on top a $500 gun trust to be written. I would hate to pay all that just to be refused. My backup plan involves a 14.5" barrel with pistol length gas system. Then I could perm mount a brake of some sort. After this I could see where our government is on banning any such weapon. If the coast is clear i could get the NFA Tax stamp and chop the barrel to about 10" and add the noveske flaming pig to just barely be poking his snot out from the bream of the hand-guard. Or I could just be simple a sling that .30 cal pill down a 16" tube.

I figured that CQB thing out around 35 years ago and someone beat me too it by about 60 or so before that. Greg PS: In reality I would not hesitate to do the $$ for a stamp etc. There has been no mention of any Class III impact and given my keen sense of politics there won't be.

Buy an 8" barrel with pistol gas, make into a pistol.
