Just picked up a PRI bolt for my 6x68 build. I usually ask before I buy, but how is the quality of these bolts? It is just a stop gap until I can get an ARP super bolt.

Never seen anything in print that bad mouthed them. I guess I should investigate the Super Bolt since so many shooters seem to really seek them out. My domestic 6.8 bolts have run well so far so I must be lucky. Greg

Did some searching. Constructor / AR15 Performance on the 6.8 forums stated that they are made by stag arms which every one knows is cmt.

The super bolts have a very good reputation, are they really any better if the standard bolt is working well? Only the end user can deside. They run about $90.00 plus shipping when available.

I have a Super bolt on my 243 LBC. I can't tell the difference between it and a standard bolt. So is it worth it? I think as long as your are prudent in your loading practices then no. There is no 6.8 data out there I know of that will put you in the category where you will need it for over pressure.

I don't intentionally run over pressure rounds. But for the person who may like to run on the ragged edge, well they MIGHT prove their worth.

I always thought that they would be a good deal for the guys that think that if the case will hold more powder then it will be perfectly safe to fill it up and cram a bullet down the neck. Idiots that do that will at some point get to see if eyes and fingers can be reattached by the local trauma center. Greg

I know a couple of those types! Scary to say the least. One took a couple of blown up firearms before he saw the light. And I am not saying which light he saw. He has since severely modified his reloading practices.
