Does anyone know if bhw barrels are used in any production guns? Or what manufactures (if any) use bhw barrels?

Does anyone know if bhw barrels are used in any production guns? Or what manufactures (if any) use bhw barrels? There are several. Most of the manufactures use BHW blanks and contour them to there specs. And use them under their own name. The easiest way to find out the answer to your question is look to see if it is 3 or 5 poly rifled. BHW is the only manufacture of true polygonal rifle barrels in the United States. There are some other manufactures that claim their barrels are polygonal rifled. They are in fact a glorified version of Infield rifling. Lands and groves with round corners.

Like Ritch says there are several out there. ADDAX is one that proudly uses BHW tubes.

I don't know if the 6x45 20 practical 6x68 and all the other "different" calibers are just built by custom ar builders. I don't know how much of a nitch market it is. What are your thoughts Greg? I guess if there was more more of a market you would see them on the open market more often

AFAIK All of the manufactures only use 5.56 barrels or .224 cal blanks. Most company's are not willing to go off on the AR off-shoots. The demand for 5.56 rifles is still higher than they can produce.
What exactly are you looking for?

I guess the 22 cal is getting boring and I talk to guys that come o Into the shop that are all about loading different calibers but for some reason won't build a gun to shoot them.

Kind of like Car and Driver. Everyone talks Corvettes but drive Buicks. Lots of guys will make up odd chamberings but the neat thing is with them is that once you place an order you have right on a year minimum to get all the other parts. As BHW reconstitutes at the new locations that factor will be cut buy around 5 to 10. The price will usually be exponentially higher in price also. One fellow does odd things but does not do one offs. He sometimes needs to order barrels in batches of fifty just to get them to build out and then they all have to be the same. Also when you step away to the custom guys you will also step away from the true poly rifling. I can also say that if you get a bad BHW barrel they will make it right. If one of the other guys make a bad one you may get it replaced but it sure won't be anytime soon. Greg

Greg When I spoke with Carl on the phone he told me "post on the forum how it shoots and if it doesn't shoot well let me know and I will make it right with you" which is nice that he stands behind his product. There are not that many companies that will take ownership and offer something like that up. Usually it is after a battle of trying to place blame on other factors. Today is a beautiful here and I wish I had some ammo loaded so I could see what this barrel does. Mid 70's just a slight breeze. A guy couldn't ask for a better day to go shoot.
