Got a friend trying to sell me an upper and BCG that he says is a Black Hole Weaponry, and has some rail mod done inside the upper with the bolt and what ever... Really not sure what he is talking about
If anyone could enlighten me on the subject That would be awesome. and also give me a value on what it would be worth.
I have my first AR-15 on its way now. should be here Thursday, then I want to get to work on a 2nd upper in .243lbc. So im already looking at getting the parts needed to do it. Thanks!

BHW does not sell/make BCG's currently. It sells barrels and few acesories not uppers. They did make some railed uppers that may be what you are looking at. BHW did do a 6X68 Group Buy with Tactical Ammunition but those were various manufactured parts and BHW super barrels. See my note below. Greg

They did make some Railed Uppers. The BCG will have cuts down the sides that let the carrier ride the internal rails. These uppers run as smooth as a babies butt. They actually feel like they are short stroking when they shoot. Chances are from your description it is a BHW railed upper. If it is a regular upper it is not a BHW product. Make sure you get the right size bolt as they were made in 223 and LBC size. Also some of the LBC's are Type I and some are TYPE II. Food for thought if that is your plan but you could change the bolt out for either if you wanted. That being said if it is LEFT handed make darn sure you get the bolt you want as those are scarce as hens teeth. Greg FYI A Left Handed Railed Upper I did a 6X45 on. I have a 20 PRACTICAL also in LH. Note the steel rails at 7 o'clock. The sales were moved to Tactical Ammunition and are out of stock. They ran around $325.00 + or - for the upper and BCG. Rumor has it there will be a MK II version out on down the raod......way down the road so if the trade is good I would jump on it. Railed BCG on the bottom. Standard on the top.

I have several BHW uppers in the left handed version. like Greg said, they are super slick and very good uppers. If Greg's photos match your friends upper, I wouldn't hesitate for a second in buying it. If it is a left handed version, make sure you get the bolt release that came with it. You'll need it to be be installed in your lower for the dust cover door to function.
Buy it! You'll love.
