Hello Greg,
I will call that number first thing Monday morning and order a 10" 300 Blackout Barrel with a Pistol Length Gas system with that sexy New Finish to top it off!!!! Your the Best my friend, I appreciate your help more than you will ever know. BTW, apparently Both phone numbers that I had were old numbers. I called Andy's number and an elderly man answered and told me I had the wrong number? Then the only other number that I had was one that wasn't accepting calls for several days.
I'm sure Glad you are there to Drive the Heard for them, or they wouldn't ever get any Little orders from people like me anymore. Now that BHW is making a Lot of Barrels for other Manufacturers they don't need us individuals anymore, they are to Busy making barrels for the Big Orders that Really Pay the Money they need and want. No more overstock barrels for us forum members to buy with our 10% Discount anymore. The Discount is just Gone right along with the Barrels we use to get a chance to buy.
I miss the old days when I could call Carl & talk to him about what I was building and get his input on my project. Or talk to him about the next idea he was about to put into production.
Things sure have changed, but I sure am Happy that you are still helping us out :-)
I'll talk to you soon my friend Eric

Thanks for the compliment. The numbers you had were changed several months ago. The new ones were put up on the actual BHW main website at that time.
As to your other concerns there still is the occasional extra barrel on the shelf. Of course no consistent style or chambers. I know in the last three months they have shipped two 6X45's, a 264 LBC, two 20 Practical's, two 6X68's and a 6.8. I know this because I have facilitated all of them.
Production is always interesting to me as is the customer mix. When I first started dealing with BHW they had a large number of industry customer/builders. Those were the guys getting 100+ barrels every month. Things show gradual movement over time and BHW has done the same. I have been talking with Carl extensively over the past year and over that time he has slowly cut back on these OEM buyers as he calls them. Now the vast majority on his barrels are going out onsey twosey to guys just like you and me.
The move was tremendously chaotic as it happened, literally, in less than five days. An entire shop was picked up and moved without regard to production tracking etc. thanks to the government doing the moving. That is all done now and production is even higher now than previously. Success breeds its own problems. Now instead of one shipping label and package with fifty barrels they now do maybe forty for the same number. Doing the math it gets pretty amazing when you look at the work load.
I talk with Denise two or three times a week helping guys out, touching base and following up on special projects that are always cooking in the background. I know that many days 40-50 individual orders are being shipped so I know there are lots of tubes being used out in the hinterlands. I wander about the vast wasteland of the internet on a daily basis and am dumbfounded by the number of BHW barrels being shot and talked about. Two years ago all I read about was DTI, ARP, Noveske and a few others. Today I see the same players mentioned but the frequency is greatly diminished. Some of them can't get barrels and are dropping their non-mainstream chamberings and many times are flat telling the guys that want a barrel they can have it in XXX lenght, flavour and finish. Oh, and the icing on the cake is that delivery dates are over a year from some guys to the one you love to hear of "I may get some in sometime next Spring or early Summer."
Just some thoughts on the subject courtesy of three cups of coffee and an early morning. I know that the ordering process is under revamp and it is a growth thing and at this time it in a bit frustrating. The delivery times are dropping drastically and the quality is still there.
If anyone hits a rough patch on ordering or other issues I encourage all the customers that read this to PM me or Ritch directly. I can assure you of the continued support of the Pro Staff. We don't get paid to do this so it is really a matter of pride for us to make make our association with BHW a very positive one.
We are involved in three other boards beside this one. This board is actually a forum for the users and shooters BHW staff go over it lightly but they don't delve in deeply. Facilitating this board is fun and educational so please continue participation.
Greg
PS: The discount is gone HERE but if you drift over to A15ARMORY , not ARFCOM, or 68FORUMS you will get a 10% discount for being a member there. You just have to tell BHW when you place an order. To quote a guy in Kansas kind of, "BHW done saved you 10%." Enjoy guys and shoot straight.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the information, it helps me understand what's going on from outside, occasionally looking in thru the Net. I'm not spending anywhere close to the amount of time that I use to spend on this forum. So that in itself says a lot about what little I actually know about what's going on day to day there? I remember when the site first went up and the first barrels that I bought, and how much I enjoyed assembling another AR and taking it to the range to only outshoot a Noveski, Bushmaster, or fill in the Blank, Fanatic or so many others that were so proud of their AR's that they would want to compete against " Me, the Guy with the Odd named Barrel named Black Hole Weaponry?
It was always for Accuracy and I just Really Found it Amusing all of the time. So many of them had a Need to show me how well their AR-15 would shoot so I would have a Better Understanding of what a Good Quality Rifle & Barrel was capable of doing? Ultimately they would either agree that my Barrel was Pretty Awesome or there Must have been something wrong with their Gun?
It was fun showing the Noveski people they didn't have to Mortgage their Home to have a Really Accurate Gun, but it was always hard for them to wrap their head around the idea of NOT having to Pay so much money to have one like mine? A lot of the shooters had stock trigger Groups and that always helped work to my advantage, because I was using a SSA Giselle trigger with a Crisp 2nd stage Break when this was going on. And I was Never trying to make a point about their rifles, but when they would see me shooting empty shotgun shells or Bottle caps at 100 yards, that would usually get someone's attention then the challenges would come my way. Now most people know about BHW Barrels and it's just not as fun anymore, so Carl, Andy & everyone else has done a Great job of Growing the company.
See Ya Eric

Historically, I am old, most sports/companies progress from bare bones to full blown activity. I was there when IHMSA, NSL and even, to some extent, USPSA. I helped start 3 GUN in Oklahoma and a few other places. As the sports progressed they grew in complexity and the "old guys" like me sometimes lamented on the change from a fun format to serious. Oddly enough I never lost the fun factor in any of those sports I participate in. My involment in their growth was much more than justs going out on a Sunday to shoot a match.
As time moved on I found that the minutia of the sports was rewarding. I became more involved with the nuts and bolts of the activity. When I came to BHW it was via refrerral from a Pro Staff, James, I met on AR15ARMORY. He had a 6X45 build that caught my eye and he too talked about this company. I had never heard of them period, ever!! We conversed a bit and I mentioned to him that I had a few things in my tool kit to bring to the table and would he facilitate an introduction. I ended up talking with Carl for about an hour on the first call and I think he thought I fell off the sqwerl wagon. After a time I met Ritch and he must have thought I knew something because he encouraged Carl to see what I could do. Of course the rest turned into history and here I am today with several wildcat design inputs and thousands of rounds down BHW barrels in testing and in match play.
I occasionally have trouble getting through to BHW like anyone else and when I place an order for a barrel. Believe me it doesn't come any quicker, in fact at times slower, that a regular customer. I do get to do some prototype testing and get the scoop on new things coming down the pike. That is a double edge sword. I know what is coming yet I have to shut up and wait!! I get as anxious as Ralphie waiting on that Red Ryder at Christmas.
I guess what I am saying is that some of the easy going free wheeling is gone but the fun is still there. I shoot some 500 yard stuff with BHW tubes and even some of the old hands at F-Class ask me about the barresl and the cartidges I am shooting. An AR in a bolt action world is a tough sell. I think I put on a good showcase of the barrels and I know that several local guys here in Phoenix know what BHW barrels will do. Keep on shooting and showing and enjoy the good times. The new stuff coming out gets my juices flowing and every time I talk about the barrels I feel like I am doing nothing but helping BHW. Product development and presenation continue every day. I'm glad that I have lifted the curtain just a tiny bit. That balding guy at the lathe is Carl and he makes the toys!!
