Hiya folks,
I've got a new BHW 18" .264 LBC middy barrel and a Tactical Ammunition Type II .264 LBC bolt. I put it all together, have everything tight and solid and looking good. I don't have "go/no-go" gauges for 264 LBC/6.5 Grendel, but I figured I'd hand-run a mag of ammo thru it to see if everything seated/chambered well. Seated the mag (an ASC 6.5 mag) with the Hornady 123gr A-Max ammo, pulled back on the charging handle, let it go and the BCG properly peeled off the top round and chambered it. Pulled back on the charging handle to eject the round (was going to post-measure for potential setback) but the extractor will not let go of the round. The ejector has done it part by pushing out the far-side rim, but the extractor will not let go. Figured I might not have run the changing handle fast enough and ran the charging handle again. Still no extraction. The round sticks out of the ejection port at about 20 deg. like it wants to extract, but the extractor can't let go. I have to very physically pull the round out from under the extractor rim to get it out.
Tore down the BCG/Bolt and re-lubed it, checked extractor spring (spring and black bumper under there), put it back together and still no extraction. This thing is stuck like a 22 year old with separation issues from helicopter parents. Kept the loaded mag, went outside to the outdoor range, chambered and fired. Lovely pop, splash of dirt on the backstop and the case, now empty, is stuck in the ejection port with the extractor "Grip of Death" on it. Had to physically remove the spent case. I measured the bolt and it is a Type II (.135" depth) and the extractor "looks" normal (slightly inset into the open face of the bolt) but this thing just won't let go.
I have never had this issue before and am highly suspect of the bolt. Anyone seen this issue before?
