Ritch just sent me a text from the Utah desert. He took the 6.5X6.8 varaint out to day. This is on an AR15 not the Savage barrel he had been shooting. Once again a grab at numbers and a charge of 8208 at a safe pressure level and this is what he got. This is a Nolser 123 Custom Competition loaded to 2.300 over IMR 8208XBR. FC brass. Group shot at 200 yards is 0.846 CTC. The barrel is a 22" standard profile 3 groove ploygon rifling. Target crown. Ritch tells me that this chambering shoots so well with so little effort it is amazing to him. Every group he has shot with it in the bolt gun and the AR have been under 1" at 100 peviously. This was stretch your legs deal. . Of course now I have to go out and try my hand later this week. Greg

We have all the confidence that you'll do it, Greg. If I can control weird third shot in my groups shooting my standard barrel, 264LBC I'll post some targets. last week every group had the first two shoots touching, the thids shot was two inches low left followed by the 4th and 5th shots back up where the first two went. This happened infour consecutive groups over a 45 minute time frame. I've checked everything so it has to be me, I guess!

This must be the place to realize that every body has a weird flyer issue. Maybe we should start a club.

I load as long as I can then shorten them up. Most seem to like between 0.005 and 0.0015 off the lands yet many will jump a huge amount. Vagaries of the 6 MM and above. Sometimes mag length really is a challenge. Greg

On the 6.5 x 6.8 are there loading dies, if so where can I get them.? If not can you walk through how you are loading ?

On the 6.5 x 6.8 are there loading dies, if so where can I get them.? If not can you walk through how you are loading ? We are using a Redding type "S" full length bushing die for a 6.8 Rem. I use a .287 Wilson bushing, the Redding bushings will work also. Just follow the instructions that come with the die from there. It's very easy, one pass through the die and you have a 6.5X68. To seat bullets we are using a Hornady 6.5 Grendel seating die. It works perfectly as well
