Hey there. Coming to you from the Great North WET. Well HOT right now. Just found the sight a week or so ago and found the 264LBC. Was turned onto BHW by BigBore over on the 458 forums. He suggested me checking out the 6.5-6.8. Though it looks intriguing it seems like a lot of trouble for not that much increase. So I decided to go with the 264LBC. Ordered up a 20" standard profile and am busy putting it all together. Now for the barrel.
So why choose the 264LBC. I had been researching the Grendel for a while. I like the long range possibilities as well as the low recoil. I really like my hammers (458socoms) but I would really like to get a bit of range with an interesting caliber. Also my Grandson has informed me he wants to go hunting. This will be a perfect platform for him. He turned 9 today so it gives me a couple years to get him up to speed. Looking forward to a new hunting partner.

Stay with us there is a lot to learn here. Read through the 6.5X68 information you will see why you were being directed towards it. It feed like a 5.56 and will out run the Grendel.

Yea looked over the posts. Seems like you get bout a 100fps increase. Though it sounds like it would be great I am not as comfortable reforming brass right now. I will have to make do with the 264LBC for now. Some of the other calibers have piqued my interest. 17-223 and 20 practical and the 22x6.8. But I think the 264LBC exploding sage rats out at 600yds will be impressive enough for a while. My next build might be the 22x6.8 though. 22-250 performance in an ar15 sounds GREAT.

Just joined this forum so I thought I'd say "Hey there, from Montana". I've been shooting and reloading for too many years to count, but relatively new to the AR15 platform.
I'm starting my second build and the BHW barrels look like something I'm interested in. So I ordered a 5.56 24" 1:8 bull barrel. No fluting and just machine finish with a target crown. Should be a heavy beast. Now comes the wait. Hoping to find a good starting load. I would like to try the 77gr. Sierra Match King...have read lots of good stuff about them.
Anyway...looking forward to what I can learn here.

Meanwhile jump in and share your experiences. Greg
